9:15 AM – Assemble at the lobby for the pick-up. Getting preparation and a short brief from your guide. Then start our journey into one of the greatest national parks in Vietnam.
Travel on the Ho Chi Minh Trail (West Branch), we go to Paradise Cave - it was initially discovered in 1992 by a group of British cavers from the British Cave Research Association. The official announcement of this discovery was only made in 2005, after a Vietnamese resident joined the team to search for new caves. In many times of exploration, the team revealed the cave’s actual length of 31,4 kilometers, approximately 31,4 kilometers long and 60 meters high, making it one of the longest dry caves in Asia. The massive Paradise Cave also boasts a unique structure. The cave is divided into multiple chambers, each with its own distinctive characteristics. Some of these chambers can accommodate hundreds of people at a time. Our journey is visiting within around 01 first km on a wooden staircase in this cave after walking ~600m steep to the entrance. (Alert: might be slippery - shoes/sandals is recommended)
Leaving this stunning cave, we are getting lunch at a restaurant and getting ready for Phong Nha cave to travel by a boat trip.
Phong Nha means “Wind and Teeth” — a name inspired by the drooping stalagmites at the cave's entrance. The name can be interpreted as “the wind flowing through the gaps between the teeth.”
At first, the boat takes you along the Son River — the largest river in Phong Nha — whose fertile alluvial riverbanks benefit local agriculture and livestock farming. When the boat reaches the cave entrance, the engine is turned off, the roof is opened, and the boatman begins rowing by hand quietly into the cave. From this moment on, you can enjoy the absolute stillness while exploring the beauty of the cave’s complex dome structures. The underground river flowing through Phong Nha Cave stretches for 1,500 meters, making it one of the longest underground rivers in the world.
The boat then drops you off inside the cave to walk and explore under your guide’s direction. In the end, the boat takes you back to the dock.
We come back to the hostel. The Free Shuttle to the Duck Farm will be after the trip (You'll pay directly the entrance fee to the farmers). You'll be dropped at the hostel if you won't join this activity.
